Every Year People Make New Year's Resolution, but how many people resolve to fix their online life. Here are 5 things you need to take care of in the year 2017 to fix your online life.

First, change your passwords. Every year we hear about hacks that have occurred. Get a program like LastPass, and make every password for every site you use, unique. The extra bonus is, that because the free version of LastPass is now free on mobile, you can truly use unique passwords everywhere, far more easily.

Second, refresh your email addresses in your accounts. Make sure you email address you use for your accounts are still valid, if they aren't, consider changing them before being locked out of your accounts forever.

Third, if the site offers two factor authentication, use it. A unique password is only one line of defense, but two factor authentication is better. If someone, somehow knew your password, they still can't get into your account.

Fourth, if the service allows it, log out everywhere at once. Start with clean sessions, and fewer live end points. If you are logged in into Facebook in multiple places, then logging out everywhere means you will have more control over your account.

Fifth, if you do not use the service, and you don't have any reason to keep the account, close the account. While, things we put online will ultimately stay online, the fewer accounts we have, the smaller the footprint for danger is online. Programs like LastPass help us remember all the sites we use, consider closing those you don't use anymore.

Now, go forth and make your online life better.
