Learn why using your own VPN can save you money and bypass IP Address Related Policies
Episode #13-20 released on March 7, 2023
Learn how using your own home VPN from anywhere can mitigate detection by Netflix, and allowing others to connect through it will allow them to look like they are from your own home.
For anyone who wants to continue using Netflix, but bypass the same IP policy, what you need is a VPN that you host from home. Using any router that supports it, set up a VPN in your own home router. This means you will be able to connect to it from almost anywhere in the world.
The second thing you need to do is find a way to connect to it. On a per device basis, you might have the option to connect to a VPN. Enter the VPN information for your VPN in the VPN settings of your device, whether it is a phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. This only needs to be done for devices that connect outside the home network.
For those who have a router that can be setup to connect to a VPN, especially outside your home network, you can use these to connect to the home network and use the Internet. This can be especially useful for family members who are less literate in technology, especially if remote management is enabled for just that reason. You should also consider using a program like Team Viewer to fix computers in this way, too.
