Most people rarely dust their computers, and eventually someone like me ends up cleaning their computer for them. When you are dusting your computer, there are a few key details you should keep in mind before starting, to avoid bricking your computer, or other devices.

First, turn off the computer, or device, you intend to dust and clean. And remember to unplug it from the wall itself. If you can, disconnect all cables connecting to your computer, or device, this will make it easier to dust your computer.

Second, choose your air compressor. If you are like me and use a powered air duster, you will have continuous air without the freezing effect of canned air. This is a much better idea. If you have to use canned air, only do short bursts and when the can gets cold, wait for the can to rewarm. If you freeze any sensitive electronics, they can be damaged. And cold air will condense water on the electronics, which can short circuit the device. Both scenarios are extremely bad.

Third, when you are done dusting, check every single connection to be sure everything is seated in their ports firmly and correctly. Most issues with computers not booting, that are not related to cold damage or condensation, are related to lose connections.

After confirming all connections are firmly in place, reconnect power and other devices to your computer, and your computer should boot, if you were careful not to freeze components, cause condensation and have validated all connections.

If it does not boot, try disconnecting everything again and reconnecting each into peripheral one at a time until you find the peripheral causing issues.
