There are many great things and bad things about iTunes. Many can agree that because of Apple and iTunes, we can now purchase only the songs we like and not entire albums across a multitude of choices of vendors. We can purchase or rent Television shows, and Movies, too.

Now, why am I talking about this? Well, a while ago, Apple made it possible to sync playback across all devices. Believe me, this is a very useful feature, that even Netflix, YouTube and many other companies have adopted. The issue isn't that it syncs, the issue is the effect on playback.

Have you ever had choppy playback of video in iTunes?

Believe me, you are not alone, and it does not even mean your computer is unable to play the media file. The issue is the same feature that is so awesome on other platforms, syncing.

The solution is simple, disable the feature, and playback works correctly, and this reportedly works in any iTunes client that supports syncing across devices. The downside? You'll have to remember where you left off on other devices.

To achieve this, in iTunes, go to Edit, then click Preferences. Go to the Store tab, then deselect the Sync Playback information across devices option. That's it.

Yes, the solution really is that easy, now go on, and enjoy your movies and television shows.
